It would be hard to imagine the amount of smoke that this Concorde engine could produce. We can inject smoke fluid in to the afterburner rail that formed part of the Concorde’s engine system, an ideal integrated solution!
The engine pictured above is mounted on to a lorry, but this is for transportation or static running only. Due to the high level of fuel consumption, the onboard fuel tank gives approx 5 minutes of running (120Ltr), so extended runs would require a fuel bowser nearby.
The engine is started by a separate air producing turbine (APU).
